W is for Wedge

Sometimes a varus or valgus rearfoot post isn’t enough. When your patient needs more stability, a wedge may help.

wedgeA medial or lateral wedge is placed from the heel extending the entire length of the shell. The wedge is skived either medially or laterally, depending on its orientation and skived well distally, too. This creates a smooth wedge rather than a block effect, providing additional comfort for the wearer.

The medial or lateral wedge is typically fabricated from Korex® and made to the prescriber’s designated height. The wedge can be extended to any length that is needed.

No need to be on edge about a wedge.  We’re here to answer your questions.
